Harry Lee Butzer 88, of Homer passed from this life on Saturday, October 30, 2021, from multiple health issues. Harry was born on April 1, 1933, in Montague, MI to Edward and Laura (Engle) Butzer, and was a graduate of Montague High School.

He married Betty Thompson on April 2, 1955. Harry exemplified all that a loving husband should be as he cared for Betty through her battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

He was the proud owner of Homer Excavation for many years and was respected throughout the community for his character and quality work. He drove truck for Diamond Transportation until his retirement in 2008. While driving for Diamond, he was known for his hard work and soft-spoken manner. Harry found joy in meeting people and visiting historic sites as he traveled.

He enjoyed gardening, working on his backhoe, and a daily trip to the coffee shop. He was a faithful member of Homer United Methodist Church and loved his church family.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert, wife Betty and son Jeffrey. He is survived by his daughter Robin (Dave) Moslow, of Buffalo NY, daughter Debra (Michael) Duff, of Springfield MO, and son Ken (Shelly) Butzer, of Houston TX, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Family will greet friends for a visitation from 10-11 am on 11/20/21, at Kempf Family Funeral Home, 303 S Hillsdale St, Homer, MI 49245. The funeral service will follow at 11:15 am.
