Charles “Fred” Frederick Tucker, 76, of Marshall, passed away on April 30, 2023.
Fred was born to Charles Henry and Grace Irene (VanArman) Tucker on May 20, 1946 in Marshall, Michigan. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1964. During high school, he completed his Certificate of Achievement for his Co-Op as Supermarket Trainee in 1964. After high school, Fred joined the Army National Guard and did his training at Fort Knox, Kentucky in 1965. He then worked for over 30 years as a Coreroom Foreman for Harvard Industries before his retirement.
Fred married Mildred Roop on July 3, 1975. She preceded him in death in 2018. Fred later spent his time with companion Chris Patton.
In his younger years, Fred enjoyed playing softball, golfing, and was a member of the Marshall Lanes Bowling League. He was an avid bingo player and loved to go to the casino.
Fred is survived by his children, Cathie Reidt, Carol Tucker, Christopher Tucker, and Terry Mulkey; grandchildren Thomas (Jazmin) Bailey II, Weslee (Hali) Bailey, Scott Charles Tucker, Max Reidt, Jenna (Aaron) Myers, Joshua Mulkey, and Nicholas (Amanda) Mulkey; 13 great grandchildren; his companion, Chris Patton; sister, Margaret (John) Taylor; special cousin, Claude Laing; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by wife Mildred Tucker, his parents, grandparents, sister Eleanor Herman, and son-in-law John Mulkey.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 1pm at Oakridge Cemetery, 614 Homer Rd, Marshall, Michigan 49068 with Jacob Washburn officiating. Jacob will announce details on a gathering to follow.
Memorial contributions are suggested either to the family or to a charity of one’s choice.
