DaNeil "Dee" Kay Manke

DaNeil "Dee" Kay Manke, age 79, passed away on October 13, 2024, at her home in Jackson, Michigan.

Born on July 7, 1945, to Gorson and Florence (Taylor) Greening in Jackson, Michigan, Dee was raised there. She graduated from Napoleon High School.

Dee worked as a CNC for C. Thorrez Industries as well as Felters Mechanical Products.

On October 5, 1991, she married Ernest "George" Manke, and they spent 25 years together before his passing in 2016. 

Dee served as the president of the VFW Post #9411 in Homer, Michigan. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially when her favorite driver Chase Elliot was racing. Dee also loved tending to her flowers in her garden.

Dee is survived by her sons Ralph (Terry) Geistel, Robert (Angie) Geistel, Charles (Rose) Geistel, Paul Geistel, and Ronald Geistel; stepchildren Penny (Pat) Dombrowski, Bryan Manke, and Peggy (Griffin) Brian; and sister Barb Fry of Pelham, North Carolina. 

She was preceded in death by her husband George Manke and her parents Gorson and Florence.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at West Eckford Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Dinner will follow at the VFW Post #9411, 23672 M-60, Homer, Michigan 49245.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Kempf Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US HWY 27 N, Marshall, Michigan. 

Memorials are suggested to the VFW Post #9411 of Homer.
