Charles "Chuck" Lewis Cutchall

Charles "Chuck" Lewis Cutchall, 81, of Cedar Springs, Michigan, formerly of Pennfield Twp. and Tekonsha, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on November 18, 1941 to Floyd and Lillian (Garrett) Cutchall in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Chuck graduated from Union City High School, after working for a couple of years, he entered the United States Navy on November 13, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan. He was honorably discharged on November 9, 1967 in Cheltnham, Maryland attaining the rank CT3. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

On October 11, 1997 he married Laura Ruth Firman in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Chuck started his career in assembly at Hayes Machine in Marshall working on assembly and maintenance installation. He became the owner of SLC in Albion building and maintaining packaging machinery. Chuck retired from Campbell Soup Company in Marshall.

He loved his John Deere tractor and gardening. He had a green thumb, and their garden was very big. Watching old western movies, especially John Wayne, putting puzzles together and line dancing were some of his favorite things to do.

Charles is survived by his loving spouse Laura, his daughter, Tammy (Melanie) Johnson of Tekonsha, Michigan, his son, Christopher (Annalie) Cutchall of Tekonsha, Michigan and his stepson, Todd (Rebecca) Rugg of Cedar Springs, Michigan; his grandchildren, Lucas Johnson of Tekonsha, Michigan, Mackenzie Rugg of Cedar Springs, Michigan and Avery Rugg of Cedar Springs, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Janet Bier.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068 with the funeral service for Chuck at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home with Melanie Johnson officiating.

The burial will take place at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens in Battle Creek, Michigan.
